A new episode leaves me thinking...

13/4/2026

We have a new episode out for Homegrown CEO, and I have not been able to stop thinking about it since I hit 'publish'...

Picture

AI is THE hot topic at the moment, and I'll be honest: I don't love the stuff. I find a lot of what I've seen either quietly concerning or outright immoral, and the more I resist it the more it grows.

And yet, I'm aware that as a freelancer (one in the creative/media industries, no less), I am massively under threat by the speed, efficiency and cleverness of these new systems. It's a position we're all in, regardless of our roles and our individual feelings towards The Robots.
There is no dispute that an AI agent can research, script, edit and publish a podcast (and, I'm sure, even host it, too), so no matter how much I hate it, I have no choice but to adapt, and to think hard about my place in it all. How do I draw boundaries around my values, while still keeping an open mind? How do I stay relevant in a landscape that's moving a thousand times faster than me?

Despite these very valid fears, I'm an optimist at heart. I believe in the genuine power of authentic, human-led storytelling, and I know that audio is (still) truly unmatched in that area. My value is in bringing that audio to life, and in making sure that the heart of every episode beats stronger from the human input - and feeling - I give it.

All this to say: if you feel similarly confused and overwhelmed by the AI revolution, this episode is for you. Thank you Tahnee Perry for joining us, and for giving even the harshest of AI sceptics something to think about.
